Manganese ore is an important metallic mineral, primarily used in the steel industry (accounting for about 90%), where it can improve the strength and wear resistance of steel. It is also widely used in new energy batteries, chemicals, non-ferrous alloys, building materials, and environmentally friendly agriculture.

Uses of manganese ore
Steel industry (core)
It is used as a deoxidizer and desulfurizer in the steelmaking process to improve the purity and overall quality of steel. It is also used in the production of alloys such as ferromanganese and ferrosilicon to manufacture high-strength steel, wear-resistant steel, and stainless steel, which are widely used in engineering machinery, rails, and wear-resistant components.
Batteries and New Energy
In alkaline batteries, manganese dioxide serves as an important depolarizer; in the field of lithium batteries, it is used to prepare lithium manganese oxide and ternary (nickel-cobalt-manganese) cathode materials, serving new energy vehicles and energy storage systems.
Chemical Industry
It can be used to produce chemical products such as potassium permanganate, manganese sulfate, and manganese chloride, and is widely used in disinfection, catalysis, and feed additives. It is also an important raw material for paint drying agents and rubber additives.
Non-ferrous and Special Alloys
Manganese-copper alloys are commonly used in corrosion-resistant containers and ship components; manganese-aluminum alloys are used in structural components for the aerospace industry; and manganese-nickel-copper alloys are used in high-precision components such as standard resistance wires.
Building Materials and Light Industry
In the glass and ceramics industry, it can be used as a colorant or decolorizing agent to formulate brown-black series or remove the green color (FeO) from glass; in the light industry, it is used in products such as match accelerants, ceramic glazes and black decorative bricks.
Environmental Protection and Agriculture
In environmental protection, manganese dioxide is used for advanced wastewater treatment and waste gas purification; in agriculture, manganese sulfate, as a micronutrient fertilizer, helps promote plant growth and improve stress resistance.
